About us

Built by puzzle people, for puzzle people

WordUnscrambler started as a late-night tool to settle a Scrabble argument. It grew into the toolkit we always wanted: honest answers, no clutter, and a dictionary deep enough to trust when the points are on the line.

No pop-ups fighting for your attention, no login walls — just the fastest path from a pile of letters to the word you needed.

Ready when you are

Give us your messiest letters.

Whatever's got you stuck — a stubborn anagram, a half-filled crossword, a rack full of vowels — drop it in and watch the words appear.

Our story

We turn dead ends into "aha" moments.

WordUnscrambler exists for the moment you're one word away from finishing the puzzle — and we want to get you there faster than anyone else.

The beginning

From a game-night dispute to a daily habit

It began over a contested Scrabble tile. Was "ZA" a word? (It is.) That argument sent us building a small tool to check — and we quickly realised the tools out there were slow, buried in ads, or gated behind sign-ups.

So we made the one we wanted: instant, generous with its dictionary, and respectful of your attention. Today it helps players untangle words for crosswords, anagrams, Wordle and Scrabble every single day.

Our mission

To make word games more joyful and less frustrating. We believe a good hint sharpens your play — it shouldn't feel like cheating, it should feel like a coach nudging you toward the answer you almost had.

Our promise

Always free to use the core tools. No account required. A dictionary we actually maintain. And a design that stays out of your way so the words — not the interface — are the star.

Wordle Helper

Turn your green & yellow clues into a shortlist.

Tell the helper what you already know from the board, and it filters our five-letter dictionary down to the guesses that still fit — so you spend your remaining tries wisely.

How to read the tiles

Green — right letter, right spot.

~ Yellow — in the word, wrong spot.

× Grey — not in the word at all.

How it works

Three quick steps to a smarter guess

1

Enter your greens

Type the letters locked in their correct spots, using a dot for any square you haven't cracked yet.

2

Add yellows & greys

List the letters you know are in the word, and the ones the board has ruled out completely.

3

Pick your play

Scan the shortlist and choose the guess that eliminates the most remaining options.

FAQ

Wordle helper questions

That's your call! Many players use it only after a couple of guesses, as a nudge rather than a giveaway. We never reveal the day's answer — we simply narrow the field of valid words based on the clues you enter.

Strong openers pack common letters and vowels — words like CRANE, SLATE or AUDIO cover a lot of ground and tend to light up plenty of green and yellow tiles early.

Yes. Put a letter in both the green and yellow fields if you know it appears more than once, and the filter will keep words that contain it in multiple spots.

The Wordle helper is tuned for the classic five-letter grid. For other lengths, the Anagram Solver and Crossword Cracker handle any word size you throw at them.

Enter the tiles in your rack — up to seven letters plus blanks — and we return every valid word, ranked by Scrabble score so your best play is always right at the top.

Top plays by score
How it works

From rack to record score

1

Type your tiles

Enter the letters on your rack. Add a question mark for each blank tile you're holding.

2

We score every option

The finder checks each playable word against the dictionary and totals its face value using official tile points.

3

Play the top of the list

Results arrive sorted highest-score first — glance at the top, place your tiles, collect the points.

Tile values

Know what each letter is worth

Scrabble rewards the rare letters. A Q or Z is worth ten points on its own — the finder factors these in automatically so a lower-scoring long word never beats a clever short one.
